ACUPUNCTURE

BRAY.png

Brayln Poirier

Registered Acupuncturist

Brayln (she/her) is a registered acupuncturist in good standing with the College of Complementary Health Practitioners of British Columbia. Brayln graduated the acupuncture program with magna cum laude distinction from Pacific Rim College and holds a Bachelor of Science in biology from the University of British Columbia. With community care as an integral value of her practice, she believes that systemic change begins at the individual level; and that individuals creating internal shifts within themselves sets the stage for a more beautiful world. In this way, acupuncture is a powerful tool for change. Brayln was introduced to acupuncture while recovering from severe burn-out after university. Her first acupuncture treatment created such a powerful internal shift that a spark of curiosity quickly grew into passionate inquiry and study of Traditional Chinese Medicine. TCM is holistic and considers all aspects of one’s experience as an interconnected whole. For Brayln, exploring the connections between the body, mind, and spirit never gets old. Bray aims to keep a general practice, ready to help resolve whatever comes into her treatment room. Her professional interests are ever evolving, and include (but are not limited to) stress and burn-out management, sleep disorders, concussion recovery, menopausal symptom management, pain management, emotional well-being, addiction recovery, and psychedelic preparation and integration. Bray brings her experience as a reiki practitioner, yoga teacher, and life-long student of the natural world to her work. When not in the clinic, she is likely out exploring the outdoors, dancing with her friends, or enjoying a quiet night at home.

REGISTERED MASSAGE THERAPY

Abbie

Abbie McNelly

Registered MAssage Therapist

Abbie started her RMT journey in Ontario, graduating from the Sutherland-Chan School of Massage Therapy. Using slow, firm, grounding pressure, Abbie’s massage practice focuses on mindfulness, body awareness, relaxation and guiding clients to feel grounded and centred within their bodies. She takes a gentle approach in meeting people where they are in their healing journey that feels authentic to each person’s goals. Here she also gained certification in Vodder Level 1 Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD). MLD massage helps to optimize lymph flow throughout the body. With Level 1, Abbie is happy to incorporate MLD in areas of the body where needed during massage treatments and guide through the process with care. She loved her community and camping around the lakes of Ontario, but felt called to the ocean and forests of BC. She looks forward to sharing space with you to regulate your nervous system and help you through your tension to get you back into whatever activities bring you joy.

Discovery Health, Nessa, Registered Massage Therapy

Neesa Mandel

Registered massage therapist

Neesa is an April 2025 graduate of the West Coast College of Massage Therapy. She has always had an interest in the workings of the human body and movement, so massage therapy was the natural career choice after spending much of her twenties travelling and working abroad. Neesa’s treatment style is best suited to those who prefer an integrative approach. She uses long, flowing strokes to promote a sense of continuity throughout the body, recognizing the interconnectedness of all its parts. By blending both active therapeutic and passive relaxation techniques, she creates treatments that are both effective and restorative, tailoring each session to the unique needs of her clients. Outside the treatment room, you can find her exploring the rivers, lakes and beaches of Vancouver Island with her dog Suni.

Discovery Health, Stephanie, Registered Massage Therapy

Stephanie Brisebois

Registered massage therapist

Stephanie is the owner and founder of Discovery Health. She loves meeting new people and getting an understanding of each persons history. Her approach varies from person to person depending on what she can intuitively pick up from the body. Through her practice, she has seen the power of simply helping the nervous system to “drop” in order to regain equilibrium through the many layers of the body; which in turn results in a faster recovery. Stephanie takes a creative approach to help determine a home-care plan that works for the individual. She is also a Certified Yoga Teacher and as such incorporates breathing into her practice. Outside of work, you can catch Stephanie in nature: trail running with her dog Django, mountain biking in the forest or playing in our beautiful oceans. She is a world traveler and even lived on the beaches of Australia for 5 years. Don’t ask her about her love for surfing though, unless you have a whole day to chat. Stephanie is trained in: CranioSacral with Upledger - Osteopathic approach to massage Hot & Cold Stone Massage - The benefits of contrast therapy
